Explosives Detection Forensics Kits
Police, special forces teams, members of the military, commercial security guards and border patrol agents all rely on the availability of explosives detection forensics kits. Since each of those groups operates on a budget, they appreciate to low cost of the E.L.I.T.E. kit. Indeed, the expense of a kit is one of the four characteristics that helps to determine its suitability for any series of detection tasks.
The E.L.I.T.E. kit is one of the least expensive detection kits on the market. Still this explosives detection kit does not lack any of the characteristics that contribute to the quality of such a detection tool. It may be an inexpensive kit, but no one could justify calling it a "cheap" kit. Besides being relatively inexpensive, this detection tool displays three other important characteristics.

This kit delivers reliable information. The men and women who use explosives detection forensics kits count on the delivery of reliable information. Those men and women cannot afford to point an accusatory finger at someone who is not carrying any explosive material. Neither can they afford to give a nod of approval to someone who has managed to "fool" a less than reliable detection tool.
In addition to being reliable, the E.L.I.T.E. kit is also rugged. It can withstand exposure to all manner of outdoor hazards. Hot and cold temperatures do not alter the performance of this detection device. Neither the intensity of the sun's rays nor the force of any precipitation can damage this kit.
Finally, any E.L.i.T.E. kit is simple to use. The men and women who will be responsible for using any such kit do not need to undergo countless hours of training. They should manage to understand the "kit basics," following attendance at just a few short training sessions.
The original E.L.I.T.E. kit was model EL100. A single EL 100 is sufficient for detection of aromatics, aliphatics, cholorates, inorganics, bromates and chlorates. In the presence of those explosive materials, the detection elements of this kit change to a very brigh color.
Still, the many explosives detected by the EL100 does not exhaust the list of materials that have an explosive quality. The model described as "EL 220" detects mixtures of chlorates and bromates. The model named "EL 230" measures both suspect particles and suspect vapors. It also distinguishes between peroxides and any chlorate or bromate.
Now there is one further aspect of a forensics kit that often goes unmentioned by the professional detector of explosives materials. That frequently overlooked aspect of forensic devices relates to their safety. No one wants an explosives expert to loose a limb, when he or she tries to determine what is in a suspected bomb.
The EL 230 has a newer, a safer design. it is shaped like a pen. If a material happens to explode while being examined by an DL 230, then that explosion should only damage one or more of the inspector's fingers. The minor injury suffered by the bomb's detector is relatively insignificant, when compared to the large field of damage that could be created by a full-blown explosion.
